Before determining the appropriate developmental and cognitive training program, an initial pre-standardised assessment is conducted to evaluate your child’s abilities in relation to their peers. These tests have been standardised using a large sample of children with varying abilities to establish average performance levels. By comparing your child’s scores to those of their age group, specific weaknesses in their brain skills can be identified. Based on these findings, a customized series of developmental and cognitive training exercises is designed to specifically target and improve these areas of weakness.
Singapore Brain Development Centre employs a comprehensive approach to assessment by utilising various tests and proprietary screening tools. These evaluations provide a detailed understanding of an individual’s skill strengths and weaknesses, particularly in developmental and cognitive areas.
Some of the professional testing tools we use include the Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement (WJ III-ACH), Test of Auditory Processing Skills (TAPS-4), Test of Visual Perceptual Skills (TVPS-4), Sensory Development Profiling Test, DIR Floortime Test, Renfrew Language Scales, SCAN-3:C Tests for Auditory Processing Disorders, The Heart Drawing.
Assessing and addressing underlying developmental and cognitive skills is crucial for improving learning performance. By identifying specific areas of need through individual skills testing, it becomes possible to target and strengthen these skills
By conducting assessments before and after the training program, we are able to track and measure the improvements achieved through our programs.
